Car Insurance Toyota (Car Insurance). How many motorcycles did you own before owning your full size? How many motorcycles did you own before owning your full size? I am a moderately small guy, I do own a Honda Rebel (250CC). I am completely comfortable with it. I am more just curious as to how many bikes you had before you owned your largest bike. I am trying to figure out what steps to take from a 250. I know that it is about riding them and getting comfortable and having fun. I don't know how big I want to go as I continue to learn more and get comfortable I think I will determine that at some point. So what was your size path? Thanks for any insight. My first was a 650 cc BSA Super Rocket. My biggest was a Honda V 65 Magna. My favorite and last one, a Triumph Thunderbird Sport 885. 125, 250, 350, 650, 1000, 1250, learning curve? No, just lack of money!!! from a BSA 650 lightning (was a basket case literally) to a bored and stroked pan head chopper to a softail custom 103 ci but i have been on the tall side most of my life check into a Harley 882 sportster for your next bike 2, but to me after owning one of the faster dirt bikes ever made, any bike is a "full size" just the smaller ones are more fun! :DDD Suzuki 60cc, Yamaha 250cc, Suzuki 400cc. I need help with an overheating car!? I have a 2003 Honda Civic EX Coupe with 167,000km. I've had it since last year February. Everything was working fine until one day in October it began to overheat. It turned out the radiator and thermostat went bad, so they were replaced. Along with that, I also replaced radiator cap as well. My car was back to working normal. It wasn't until March (when the weather began to warm up) my car started acting up again. My car overheated to the point where smoke was coming out of the hood. It turned out I was low on coolant. About two weeks later the temperature gauge would go up when it idle or got off the highway. I took it to my mechanic and he said there was no leaks and did not see a problem. But on my way home at the stop light, the temp needle went up and then back down as I drove. I then took it to another mechanic (who specializes in Japanese made vehicles), he told me I should replace my water pump + timing belt, because I was due for one and it could be causing the problem. I did that and the problem was not fixed. It got worse. Now my car is overheating erratically. I took it back to the mechanic and he replaced the fan sensor, radiator cap, bled the air out of the system twice, ran a compression and pressure test (came back fine) and still no luck. He's now telling me it could be my head gasket, but my coolant is not mixing with the oil nor is the oil mixing with coolant. And I don't have no thick, white smoke/steam coming from the exhaust. I'm just really frustrated and tired of this overheating problem. I've spent close to a $1000 on my cooling system and still no luck. Even the mechanics are stump. Any suggestions, because I'm on the verge of putting my car down. car insurance. Auto parts : Tailgate Net Scion 1999. Tailgate Wiring Harness Smart 2000. Tap And Die Set Sterling 2001. Hypothetically, if you outfitted a consumer car like a rally car wouldn't you have much better chances of surviving most crashes? Those cars have roll cages, 5 point harnesses, and seats that protect your neck and I've seen those cars crash hard and the driver come out fine. Most of the stuff on a rally car is impractical for your everyday driver, but if companies really wanted to save lives wouldn't they add those features? car insurance. Toyota . How to Determine BTU by HorsepowerHorsepower and the British Thermal Unit (BTU) are both measurements of energy. Each of these units quantifies heat or energy in general, but in different ways. With the proper formulas, however, you can convert horsepower into BTU and vice versa. The British Thermal Unit is most accurately defined as the energy required to raise the temperature of 16 ounces of water by 1 degree F. Horsepower is a measure of power, and 1 horsepower is equivalent to 33,000 pound-feet per minute of work. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need CalculatorConverting from Horsepower to BTU Step by Step : 1 Find the horsepower given for your machine. This information is usually available from an owner's manual or the manufacturer's website. With vehicles, check for the exact year and engine type because the horsepower can vary a lot among different models. 2Boiler horsepower (BHP) is a separate unit that measures the amount of steam moved per hour.teekocher image by Dron from Fotolia.com Multiply a boiler's horsepower by 33,479 to find out BTU per hour. BTU-hours are the standard unit when something refers to just "BTU." 3 Multiply the horsepower of all other machines by 2546.4 to find BTU-hours. If you seek BTU-minutes, divide the BTU-hour figure by 60. Converting from BTU to Horsepower Step by Step : 1 Find your appliance or machine's BTU. This figure is listed in owner's manuals, on manufacturer websites and frequently on a sticker on the appliance itself. 2 Multiply the BTU by 0.0003931 to find the answer in horsepower-hours. 3 Multiply a BTU-minute figure by 0.02356 to find horsepower. Tips & Warnings BTU and horsepower are both measurements of energy, but as mathematical terms they talk about energy in different ways. This is why it's important to note when your units are not simply BTU, but BTU per minute, or horsepower-hours instead of just horsepower. Recognizing these differences will help you compare various appliances and engines.
Toyota . Troubleshooting an Overheated 1996 Subaru ImprezaThe Subaru Impreza has been on the market since 1993. The 1996 version came in two models: a wagon version and a sedan version. No matter what model you have, your 1996 Impreza probably has a few miles on it. That means your Impreza is more susceptible to parts breaking down compared to newer models. One problem that may happen is an overheated engine. The smoke coming from your Impreza's hood may be cause for some concern, but if you take the time to inspect your car, you may find the cause of the problem and determine how to fix it by yourself. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Towel Step by Step : 1 Turn off your Impreza immediately upon the first signs that your engine is overheating. The first physical sign you'll notice is white smoke coming from the hood of your car. If you're not sure if what you're looking at is smoke---it may be harmless steam---look at the temperature gauges on the dashboard. These gauges will let you know if your engine is dangerously hot. 2 Open the hood of your car and allow the engine to cool. The engine and other parts under the hood will be hot to the touch. The smoke can be hot, too, in addition to being unsafe to inhale. Do not start your inspection until the smoke has subsided. 3 Place a towel over your hand to act as a makeshift glove to protect you from burns and pull out the oil dip stick. Look at the oil level in your engine to see if it needs to be refilled. A lack of oil will cause your Impreza's engine to overheat very quickly. Insert the dip stick back in place when you're done. Check under the car for leaks. 4 Open the top of the antifreeze container to see if your car has enough coolant in it. There should be a small hash mark on the container that indicates the lowest level of coolant before you need to add more. Low coolant levels can cause both your engine and radiator to overheat. 5 Turn your car back on after the engine has cooled and you have tested your engine for proper oil and coolant levels. Allow the car to sit idle for five to 10 minutes---15 in cold weather---and listen for the engine fan. The fan should turn on after this period of time to cool the engine. Turn off the car and look under the hood again if the fan is not working. This can be the result of a broken fan belt or a blown fuse, both of which need to be replaced to get the fan working again. 6 Detach any cargo you may be hauling with your Impreza or at least lighten the load. As with any car, too much weight can cause the engine to overwork and overheat. Tips & Warnings You should wait for your engine to cool down before your start driving again. Keep a close eye on your temperature gauges to make sure your engine isn't overheating again. Repeated overheating can cause significant damage to the engine. If you have jack stands, place them under the car, near the place where the jack is touching the vehicle (see Figure 1-2). Raise the stands until they are high enough to just fit under, and lock them in place. Lower the jack until the car is resting on the jack stands. Then remove the jack. Substituting boxes, stones, or bricks for jack stands is very dangerous. They can slip out or break while you're under the car. A jack can do the same thing, so if you're going to work under your car (and you will if you plan to change your own oil and do your own lube jobs), be sure to buy a pair of jack stands. The money you save by getting under there yourself will pay for the stands in 122

Before you begin to work, wiggle the car a little to make sure that it's resting securely on the jack or the jack stands. Doing so also tells you whether you have the wheels blocked properly. It's better if the vehicle falls while all four wheels are in place. (It will bounce just a little.) If you remove a wheel and begin to work without making sure that you jacked up the car and blocked it securely, it can do a lot of damage to itself — and to you — if it falls. (This is not meant to frighten you away from jacking up your car and working on or under it. It's just to emphasize the fact that a few simple precautions will remove any danger.) Toyota .
